So this is one of my main pieces of iron that I cook on. I use it weekly when at home, and sometimes exclusively when camping. It is a plow disc off of a harrow. A friend welded the hub hole closed for me and added the handles. I took it to my local powder coat shop and had them sand blast it to remove the slag and rust. Once I got it back I seasoned it like I do all of my cast iron with flax seed oil. 3 initial coats. All other seasoning has been from cooking. I wasn't happy with any of the stock burners or turkey fryers so I built my own burner out of a steel tire rim. ONce igot it complete I took it to the powder coat shop and they blasted it then coated it with high temp black powder coat. Enough talk here's a few photos of this hunk of steel and a few recent cooks. Oh yeah almost forgot, the disc weighs in at 39# and the burner is right there too! My galley for my build will be designed around this.
