I have designed a squarish camper for my own use. 8 x 4 x 4 roughly.
The front and side hatches are for access to the cabin and for extra ventilation in hot weather during the day. They will be fly-screened. The size of the side hatch is to suit a small air-conditioner and a removable shelf is for that purpose or it could be another pass through opening/table. Maybe it is a crazy idea. The air conditioner only comes camping in hot/cold seasons and is carried in the car.
The bed space is 78 inches long and 44 inches wide. Cosy. It could widen to 5ft but it is meant to be a low cost build and you get more out of plywood at 4ft wide.
The rear hatches are removable rather than lift up so I can park under low trees and they also will have legs and serve as camp tables.
It is a low cost build. No electrics - just camping lanterns etc. I will have an electrician put in one ac outlet if they will.
