My First Foamie

I'm building my first foamie. I'm trying to build it to fit my family of five. It is on a 6.5'x9.5' trailer with a bunk bed in the front, a trundle bed underneath the bottom bunk, full size dinette bed, and the galley in the rear. I was originally going to build a square drop, but since the trailer will be wider than my truck I decided to change that to a teardrop because I didn't want to pull a wall. Wish me luck.

It’s a sticky tar paper for sealing the edge of a roof. I melted it to the trailer with a little hand torch.

I think it should do well, especially once the weather warms up and it really seals to the wood.

Finally got the floor bolted down and insulated. Now just finishing the decking. Those $5 OSB/Plywood circular saw blades are home depot are awesome.

ST , I’d think it would be a Great idea to really soak that OSB floor with “the Mix “ to absolutely waterproof it … From our recent experience , the waterproofing can greatly increase the durability and longevity of the OSB flooring … We didn’t use it on ours ( forgot and was in a rush) and 5 years later we had to replace the floor entirely … Had we waterproofed it , it would have been fine …
And also we’d HIGHLY RECOMMEND using some "drip edges” all around to keep any repetitive moisture off your flooring …

Ps … the Mix is 75% common Mineral Spirits , and 25% Polyurethane Varnish … well proven , well worth the effort. Soak it in till it won’t take any more … once treated, a water drop will just sit on top and evaporate , never even wetting the OSB … We treat ALL our wood with it now .

Got the bunk bed built

I finished framing the dinette/queen size bed. I've decided to nix the galley since this is my first build. My next build won't be for a family of five, so I'll put a galley in that one.

It's still a little cold up here, but I decided to go away from that bulky bunk bed and build a new one out of 2x2s like the dinette, which I will finish this weekend and post some updates.

Got some work done of the new bunk bed, and skinned the dinette.
