I've continued to use this switch with no problems. I rewired it late last summer because my original lamp zip cord (old, used, salvaged) looked and felt brittle. I'll post some pics if you are interested in the interior workings of the switch.

I keep it in the shower tent area when in use. It gets splashed but doesn't stand in water. I originally bought two switches cause they were very cheap and took forever to ship. Can't remember the source other than it was probably ebay.

I found I use less than two gallons per shower. Was using a 5 Gal Homer bucket until last fall. I ended up buying an Igloo two gallon insulated water jug and converted it into the shower bucket. Now the water I heat (or my solar bag heats) stays warm longer. On a trip to Boudary Waters last year the homer bucket lost a lot of heat as I was trying to heat water in small batches. It was in the 40s and it was a battle on the propane stove trying to heat three gallons.

Yes Tim, I am interested to see more details of your waterproof foot switch. I am trying to finish my shower inside the trailer. I fixed two standard shower curtains on track to create toilet and shower area. I used medium size mixing tab from HD with a wooden slat pad inside and plan to use two bilge pumps one for warm clean water and one for pumping out the gray water, each pump controlled by a foot switch. That way one's feet should stay and I can keep the shower area dry. The shower gear will be stowed on the bathroom area wall when not in use. There is no drain plumbing, that is the idea, for now. All I have left to do is the foot control switches. I have not found the solution yet. Since I will be using the shower inside the trailer, I hope that water container will be warm for long enough, but you have me thinking about insulation, will have to test the shower now to see if I'll need it.
I will post toilet/shower pictures of my setup on my build thread when finished.

I'll post some pics of the switch I have later. I searched for the switch online but came up empty. I did find several switches that claim to be waterproof. They would mount on a wall I suppose. That might work better in a permanent install than my foot switch.

Thanks Tim. Since my setup is more permanent where I can leave the pumps connected, I am also thinking of putting switches on the wall and in that case they will be behind the shower curtain, i.e. dry. I can use more convenient, standard 120v wall Decora switches then to control 12v pumps. I'll try that first since I have them available. Thanks for your input !
