Flex Seal. Really?

I so avoid these types of marketing things, yet I've heard from a few good sources this stuff really works! Hmm...

Now I go into what is it and is it worth buying that brand? It's liquid rubber! I have some I use on electrical connection that are submersed. Is this worth the hype?

Interested in what others think about this brand or similar.

Don't buy it. The original praise for the product is changing to damnation quickly. I'm hearing from a women's RV site that not only does the seal not last but that you'll have to pay Hell with cuss words and hard labor to get it off to seal your RV correctly later.

They make both a liquid and a tape.

If you're using it on something that will be replaced later, okay. I was given a roll of their tape for Christmas and I used some of it this spring for an emergency fix to a yard dripper hose. It helped long enough to replace and fix what was broken, although it still leaked a bit. But, what a mess! I don't think I'll ever get the goo off the scissors I used to cut the stuff!

I would imagine it’s good for some uses, but not all. What are you trying to accomplish? Butyl tape, eternabond, and dicor are my go to products to stop leaks….

But what are you trying to do?

Coating steel frame of the pickup and the plywood base of the camper (underside). I see other liquid rubber products out there...

total crap no UV protection and will crack after a bit. A whole day to get it off of a trailer that I was stupid enough to put it on with a wire brush. Rust-Oleum makes a product the same thing that will get hard and could be painted over .There's many bad reviews on this stuff has anyone that uses it gets what they deserve. again I was totally stupid enough to try it once

But wait... didn't they build a boat with a screen door as the hull and it floated. Next time I build a boat with window screen I'll definitly use that stuff.

Seriously though, my neighbor, who tends to be quite gullible, bought a case of the stuff cause it was such a good deal. He tried to fix a leaking rain gutter on his house. Total fail. Been trying to give away cans since. He's asked me if I want a can. No thank you.

I don't have any experience with their rubberized paint but I've used "Flex Tape" (same company) many times. It works well as a gasket between a metal bracket and a painted surface for example. Based on that I'd be willing to give it a try.

The original flex tape was just ice guard roofing underlayment. It has no uv protection.

I saw something about the guy who came up with it, he was buying 200 buck rolls of ice guard and selling the strips for around 1500 bucks. I wish I came up with the idea

I used the liquid and the tape for my roof. It worked. I used the tape where the 2 boards met. put some bricks on it for pressure. the next day I painted over it with the liquid. So far so good. Only 2 spots recently with a small leak. Downsides...cant paint over it, a bi111 to remove, pricey, doesn't last too long. Will it keep my ttt from sinking? Nope. When I saw the commercial for the floating whatever it was, I laughed. Cheesy! lol I think it's more for short-term "fixes".

My intent has always been to under coat my camper with it. I ended up going with another spray rubberized product.
