OK...I called the CG and asked about what flavor electricity they had and was informed they had 20/30/50amp power in the boxes so adapters should not be needed(remember murphy)...
...boat rentals...bateaus(jon boats)$15/day $5/hr...FG canoes $20/day $5/hr...FG kayaks $30/day $5/hr...life jackets and paddles provided...out of state fishing licenses are $5/day and available at the store less than 5mi from the park...
...firewood...you can only scavenge what is on the ground which means in Lousisana it is probably rotten and liable to be full of fire ants...they sell firewood at the office for $6 a bundle which could get a bit expensive for several good long campfires and the weather will be plenty cool enough for a fire soooooo if y'all want I will ask around about having a rick(or 2) of firewood delivered to the site...this will probably cost around $65/rick...what do y'all think about firewood...
...right now, we have a dozen prople who have reserved sites, we will probably get at least a half dozen or more before it is done...it's gonna be a GREAT gathering WOOOHOOO...if you even remotely thinking about going, do so and get your resevation in...there are approximatly 20 sites in the group I recommended and they are filling up, if more than that come on down there will still be sites available but they will start to get kinda streched out, so get those cards and letters in to headquarters :D

To keep the theme of the last gathering going, should this one be called the "Inaugural Cypresswood Gathering" (ICG)?
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

I have lots of wood.... will bring about a big big rubbermaid thang full of it. I can get more at my friends acreage if need be.

And I"m already thinking of all the Hallowed decorations to use with the Jewel Box..... little pumpkin lights, the witchy face, etc

This is really going to be a great campout already !!!

It was meant as a joke, but okay, the ICG it is!

MJ and Jewel--I'll try to remember to load up a bunch of mesquite to bring, too. Will they let me import that kind of Texas weed across state lines?

How about a TD "floating" on a cypress filled lake with someone fishing off the top?

I can't draw it--I'm just an idea man.

Dean, please feel free to do so...and anyone else who is interested do so also...I have the artistic talent of a broken pencil so I have to rely on others for such things(aka...the mercy of stangers)....

Just for S&Gs I looked at the Reserve America site to see how many spots are available. It looks like there 10 sites left between site #30 and Site #50. Come on let's fill the place up! We are half way there! Soft siders are welcome.

When I called the CG this morning to ask a couple of questions and told them what was happening, they said OMG, y'all comeon down...to which I agree, lets fill 'em up and havva high ol' time...if we fill the 20 sites, there are still plenty of others on both sides of those, they just don't front the lake but are ALL nice sites...like I have been saying...be there or be slightly outta round ;)

Dave

I mentioned to the wife that I had made reservations. I think it will be an easy sell though, all I have to do is remind her that she can play roulette just down the road.
