Hi All,

I got my steel and axle! I plan to start welding it all up this weekend.

I'm renting an ARC welder and going to stick weld it.

This picture of your axle shows exactly what MadJack talks about when he
says the following information that I have put on the trailer start page sticky:

Phil,

Is that a heater I see in your garage? Does it spit out reams of CO? (Carbon Monoxide!) You weren't planning on heating your teardrop with that were you?

Nice picture of the chassis setup waiting for the welder. But why stick? Isn't mig easier?

Hey,

Steve... Funny I did not notice the bow in the axle till you mentioned it... The axle and framing are in an upside down state... so the bow will be upward. Thanks!

Mike... that green heater is on it's way to Goodwill. I had held onto it to see if my son-in-law wanted it but no.

To all.. what Mike brought up is a very important safety matter, please select your heaters carefully! That one in the foreground (green guy) is for outdoors use only. Sorry it slipped into the photo, but it's on the way out of the garage.

Well, after a long day... I got the frame welded up!!!

Man am I tired!!!

Thanks Bledsoe3... It was a pleasure to meet you too, and you answered many, many questions I had about building a TD.

I found a set of wheels and tires Sunday, but I don't have them on yet. I'll post a pic soon as I do.

looked at your pics looks good. any reason u ran the channel like that (facing out) or was it personal preference just curious too about all the half used rods on the ground in frame10 pic. it looks very strong and should make a great tear. :thumbsup:

Thanks, I think I'm building a tank... :lol:

I ran the Channel on the outside, cause I'm planning to rip 2x3s down to fit inside the channel to mount the side walls to. The plywood deck is mounting right on the metal frame... (no wood under the plywood).

As for the half used rods... :oops:

I got the wheels on today, but I still have a bit of welding to do.
