You want weather extremes? Try traveling across country this time of the year. I left So Cal a week ago, spent four days in Eastern PA & NJ. Now I am towing my 15.5 Kenskill back home. My path has been across So Cal, AZ, NM,TX panhandle, MO-IL, IN, OH, WV, PA, NJ.
I left wearing shorts and wore them all the way, esp in extreme heat in OK. Ahead of me, fortunately, a tornado landed in IN. I had a fine trip with no real weather issues once I was not trying to sleep near OK City. Very hot.
The trip back proved I was wise to have a trailer with a change of clothes for all weather. There was cold, wind and rain in PA over the weekend but it was warm enough on Monday in NJ to make margaritas!!
Things change. Since the first night in OH, there has been rain and lots of wind across OH, IN and IL. In MO the temps dropped to 43, they predicted mid 30's, some rain but no wind. Temps from MO, across OK stayed 43-53 until I reached the TX border, only then was there a hint of sun.
Tonight Amarillo is supposed to drop to the thirties, I love my little ceramic heater. Tomorrow across NM may be nice but I think there is more rain between here and So Cal. Glad I had a varied wardrobe.
I want my So Cal Sun, you can have the foggy North.
