I found my first major screw up, somehow I got off on the left side hinge spar. I didn't realize it until I was standing back and looking at the progress, I just didn't look right so I checked the measurement. Some how I must have measured the inside of a spar when I should have done the outside, was off about 4 inches!

I took the double spar back out and had to cut the hatch gap some more to match the right side, looks ok now.
This Stanley 14 ounce dead blow hammer is a wonderful tool. For those not familiar with a dead blow hammer, they are filled with lead shot. When you strike an object, the hammer doesn't bounce back like a regular hammer does. Get one, you'll love it!
A shot of my work bench area.
A close up of the work bench, helpers shown here.

And last a shot of me tonight, just one blood blister on my left index finger, thanks to that dead blow hammer!.

I used up some more of that oak wood I got for the spars, this thing is gonna be tuff!
