Things that don't fit anywhere else...

I don't have one, but how about this? IF my nefarious plan for this pirated thread is successful, NO ONE will EVER mention WALMART on this forum AGAIN!
BWAHAHAHAHAA!

Will that do?

And the words in the previous paragraph were Clinton's, not Bush's. My point being that if Bush lied, so did Clinton. In fact, neither one lied. Both believed faulty intelligence that we now, with our 20/20 hindsight, know was seriously flawed. But frankly, I don't expect liberals to have enough intellectual honesty to admit even that much.

You seem obsessed with proving the Bush didn't lie about needing to go to war. Here are a few more for you to explain:

President Bush, speaking to the nation this month about the need to challenge Saddam Hussein, warned that Iraq has a growing fleet of unmanned aircraft that could be used "for missions targeting the United States."

Last month, asked if there were new and conclusive evidence of Hussein's nuclear weapons capabilities, Bush cited a report by the International Atomic Energy Agency saying the Iraqis were "six months away from developing a weapon." And last week, the president said objections by a labor union to having customs officials wear radiation detectors has the potential to delay the policy "for a long period of time."

All three assertions were powerful arguments for the actions Bush sought. And all three statements were dubious, if not wrong. Further information revealed that the aircraft lack the range to reach the United States; there was no such report by the IAEA; and the customs dispute over the detectors was resolved long ago. --10.22.02, Washington Post

Joseph, I've only been quoting what you printed on this forum to put my point of view.
In saying that, can you explain to me the meaning of the word "deemed" in the context in which it is used in the above quote.
Also, could you explain to me what they are saying when they state that "Despite many efforts to locate"
Cheers
Paul

PS Miriam, I've got a good deal going on boomerangs down here...............................SSSSSSHHHHHHH Don't tell anyone else!!!!!!!!!

DeWayne,

You crack me up and here is why:
If you attack the United States it does not have to be one of the 50 States or Puerto Rico. If one of those unmanned missiles were launched against one of our bases in the Middle East, Europe or our Embassies - guess what that happens to be sovereign land of the United States. Wait what if he sold them to Cuba hmmm a little closer to home.

what does the word "potential" mean hmmm maybe?

How long is "long ago"

Further Information - from where, who do we have documentation to support it. It does not say the IAEA said they made no such report

See even the Washington Post does not give you complete information so how can you say at the time of his statement he is lying. Who can you trust?

Why don't we get of this crap. While all this discussion based on who's right and who's wrong is going on, ol' GW commits another 20000 troops to go have a looksee.

It's against my better judgment to offer any comments on this thread, but I just can't resist. Here is some advice given me by a wise friend a few years back. I pass it on especially to Ira.

Never argue with an idiot. He'll drag you down to his level and beat you on experience.

And that's all I have to say about that,

What - now we have to go back to what the meaning of "is" is? "Deem: to think, believe or judge." Webster's New World Dictionary.
Also, could you explain to me what they are saying when they state that "Despite many efforts to locate"

It means we believe they're there but we can't find them. Given the size of Iraq, the fact that they found ANY is surprising.

Again, my point is the intelligence communities of the WHOLE BLOODY WORLD believed that Iraq had WMDs before we (and I mean WE - my government, yours and Andrew's, along with many others) invaded Iraq.

So exactly how does that make Bush a liar for believing the same thing?

How could somebody who is supposed to be such a dope perceive something that the rest of the world could not?

Oh - I forgot. Karl Rove did it.

I'm sorry to say it, but it appears that your turn's coming, Paul.

Thank's Don, for your calming post.

It did have that effect on me.

BIG BUSH SPEECH TONIGHT! CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR HOW 20,000 MORE TROOPS ARE GONNA FIX ALL OF THIS!

I think General Westmoreland is writing the speech for Bush from the grave.

And for Yurps or those Yurps and Yanks who don't know--Westmoreland was a major figure in the Vietnam War. He basically believed you could win a war by attrition. No big deal if a million Americans died...as long as a million and ONE Viet Cong/Northern Vietnamese died.

This basically sums up the history of the man, taken from Wikipedia:

Under Westmoreland's leadership, the United States "won every battle, until it lost the war."
Here we go again!

I'm taking Don's advice here. Apparently some have all the time in the world to sit at the computer and justify their existence. All the advice I can offer to them is to go out and get a life or, maybe, get out in the shop and build a TD 8)

I'd love to, but unfortunately, some of us are condemned to spend the day chained to the computer in order to earn a living. This is my break. Pathetic, innit?

A pirate that doesn't rape, pillage and burn is just a sailor. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt. And not just a T-shirt - a whole seabag of old uniforms I can actually still fit into!
