Dan,
While I have never built a canoe, I know the basic technique.
When that combines with a tear design, it gets sticky. I have seen tears built with strips laid pretty flat, so that the final design is the same as a conventional design. That might make a good product, but isn't cutting too much new ground.
It seems one might make a form that is half airstream and half tear drop, but then it gets complicated!
Any ideas?
