How Long Do We Have?

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

If any of you saw the 60 minutes segment on medicare drugs last night, you will have a good idea of how low our gov't has gone. The story stated that 1,000 drug lobbiests were lobbying 500 representatatives to essentially get them to pass a bill for medicare drug coverage. In the bill, which had been pretty much written by the drug cos. (1,000 pages long), was a clause that said medicare COULD NOT negotiate for lower drug prices. They went on to compare what the VA pays compared to medicare... The VA usually gets drugs for 30-80% less than medicare pays.

It also told of how some of the authors of the bill went to work for the drug companies as soon as 10 days after the bill passed, one for a 2 mil per year salary....

We have, the best gov't money can buy..... they just don't represent us.

Remember all the crying about medicare running out of money? The same people passed this medicare prescription bill that is helping it do exactly that.

Arne & All,

See what Arne is talking about~ 60 Minutes segment on Medicare drugs
If you go here to the 60 Minutes Video :
"A Question Of Corruption" Video

I was stunned at the number of representatives of the people and their
congressional staff that after passing that drug bill went to work for drug
companies, soon after. These crooks are still free, paid off with great jobs.
While the old and our Government treasury are being pillaged by this
greedy industry. It always makes me mad to think of how the prices for
drugs in most of the world is much lower that we here in the USA pay.

Ira, isn't it great we live in a country that will allow its people to voice their political opinions, both left and right. Many great Americans have died to allow us that freedom. If you don't like SteveH's opion and know he is a fiscal conservative..........don't read them....skip them.
