Fallen Hero

An event occured today in Kenosha, WI that compelled me to write to someone, anyone, who cares to hear the story. Today we layed to rest Deputy Sheriff Frank Fabiano Jr, who was killed in the line of duty last week. He was making a simple traffic stop and was fatally wounded after an exchange of gun fire. The man who killed Officer Fabiano, exchanged gun fire with another officer who came to assist, then fled through the woods. He was apprehended two hours later with the hand gun still in his waistband. He offered no other excuse except he had had an argument with his wife, drank a bottle of Tequilla, did $200.00 worth of cocaine and was having a bad night. Turns out this lowlife has a record in several states all the way from Texas where he entered this country illegally.
The funeral procession lasted 45 minutes with law enforcement from all over WI, and several other states. It was one of the most moving things I have ever witnessed. I was brought to tears.
Officer Fabiano leaves behind a wife and small children. My heart goes out to them.
This was the first police officer killed in the line of duty in Kenosha since 1919.
It's going to be interesting to follow the trial to see what defense is mounted. Too bad WI no longer has the death penalty.

I was hoping to get someone to watch the kids so I could come down and participate, but no luck.

Thanks for the offer.

By the way +1 for the death penalty for situations like this.

It's a Pittyful thing for sure, and if your state is anything like Tn. it will take so long in court the guy may die of old age, or write a million seller book or something, before he ever even gets a trial . and here the Law really won't do much with them, because they know they just have to feed them,.... I'm sorry to hear it, but it makes me mad to think about this kind of thing.

My though is that they should just turn those people over to the family of the victim's of these crime's, and just walk away.. Jim G

I wish it was that easy, but, things being as they are, I'll be paying (through my taxes) to feed and clothe him the rest of his life. And probably his wife and any kids he has too.

Are there still states that don't have a death penalty, but still have it for murdering police officers? Or is this a "politically incorrect" thing of the past?

I personally don't believe in the death penalty as a deterrent--I believe in it as punishment.

It is probally "politically incorrect!" :(

I like the punishment part, especially for something like this. No question that he did it! Trial...plead guilty...last meal...next morning at sunrise...done. No appeals to waste money and time.

In China, this guy would have been taken behind the courthouse and executed immediately after the trial to be sure he's the guy that shot the officer.

one bullet, no appeals, his family disgraced.

they do one thing right there.
