Skin on roof expanding

Postby ktgunder » Sat Jun 09, 2007 8:47 am

The skin on my roof is expanding and causing ripples, is there anything I can do? Or do I need to replace it?

What type of material are you using on the roof? How did you attach it?

If you did like I did and used the plastic from Lowes. It will expand, I don't know if it goes back as it cools or not. I will have to replace mine, thats for certain. I just haven't decided if it is going to be next winter or maybe the following one, as long as it doesn't leak, I might just paint it camo; then no one can see it. In answer to your question, yes it should be replaced, if it makes you sad.. :(

I used .032 aluminum with contact cement but over the winter it seems the roof only has come free. In the direct sun it tends to buckle up a bit as it expands. Now it seems to have stretched some. It goes almost back to normal when it is in the shade.
