OK here I go!! Build started....New Pic's.....

Postby kirkman » Sat Jun 09, 2007 9:08 am

I bought a TS 4x8 trailer yesterday. I am going to build a 5x8 benroy on top of her. Yesterday I cut off the welded on fenders and moved the axle from on top of the springs to below the springs. It was not as hard of a job as I thought it would be. Looks like this will give me the clearance I need with out making big wheel wells. I wish I had a digital camera so I could keep you guys up dated. But alas you will have to use you imagination. That is unless my lovely wife gets me one for fathers day .
:) Wish me luck!!!!!!!

$15 dollar digital camera at walmart !!!!! I will have to check that out.
I built the floor today and ended up with 2 1/2 inches of clearance between wheels and the floor. I hope that is enough. Tomorrow I am going to flip the floor over and give her a good coating of roofing tar.
 I think that will take up the AM. Then it is off to the hardware store for 3/8 bolts. Then to the auto parts store in search of bumper stops to keep my tear from bottoming out the springs and the tiers hitting the floor.

Day three.....I undercoated the floor, installed the bumper stops, and bolted the floor to the trailer. Tomorrow I will cut out the walls and get them installed....I have to get a camera! 8)

Day 4......I went to walmart to day to get a cheep Digital camera and guess what they where out of them.

Madjack...I was going to order the one you found but by the time it gets here I will be dun with my build.

Today I got the walls cut out and installed. Ribs are in and I am ready to do the cabin ceiling. I have to work fast because I don't have a garage so every day it is nice I'm working hard. It looks like rain tomorrow so I might not finish as fast as I would like.

Day 5........Went to get 1/8 Baltic birch today and they where out so I went with paneling. I think it will look great. When I went to mix up some epoxy I realized I was out so I glued up the scarf joints with tight bond. So I have to wait until tomorrow to install the cabin roof. I spent the rest of the after noon trying to figure out how I want my galley to look.
I still have not come up with and good Ideas.

[/b] Day 6....I installed the cabin roof and then put a coat of polyurethane on the side where the foam insulation goes for extra. moisture protection. Then I started laying out my galley. I think this is going to be the hardest thing in the whole project because I don't know how I want it. I guess I should haul out all of my camping gear and see how it fits .
