I'm not sure as I don't know much the tires stick out on a 5' trailer? Also, if you use a 5' wide trailer, you're going to have taller tires, so you'll need to notch the floor so that the tires don't rub on the bottom of the camper.

I'm not sure. Measure your outside mirrors and see how wide they are. I towed my popup behind a Wranger, but it was shorter than my Jeep so seeing around it wasn't a problem. You may have to add those towing mirrors to be able to see around the camper at 6 feet wide.

Yup, that's the plan, free plans. That way more people can build their own, and I don't have to offer support.

Steve,

For the weekender standy I am going to suggest the construction style you used. You used 1/4" plywood, right, backed up with 3/4" studs? I am going to suggest moisture resistant luan backed up with 3/4" studs.

That's correct. I just went out and double checked and I used 1x2's as spars. I have 6 spars in the camper. I have two spars that are doubled up, one towards the front and one at the back. The reason those spars were doubled up is because that's where two sheet of 1/4" plywood meet for the roof.

How did you form your curve?

I have 8" wheels. I'm looking for some chrome spinners too, not much luck. Since my tow vehicle has chrome wheels I may get some 8" chrome hubcaps (golf carts).

Not sure what's next. There are so many little things to do that I'll be busy for awhile. I'm in the garage working on my new seat cushions now. I'll post pics later, and I'm really happy with the way they're coming out. 8)

The roof curve? I cut the 24" and 36" radius out of 3/4" plywood. I screwed the top into those as it bent around. Since the 1/4" plywood was 6' wide, it bent easily. No problems with the curve at all.

I came back later and epoxied the roof to the sides.

No no no.. I mean the 1x2s that you have following your curve...

Mike...

P.S. Looking closer, it looks like you cut a couple plywood ribs to match...

Not sure I understand what you're asking? The only plywood I used in the framing is the curvy parts where they meet with the 1x2's on the straight sections.

Here is the hi-res picture of it:

That's why we talk in pictures...

Here's what I am asking. How did you cut this rib... It's 1/32" thinner than all your pine ribs, right?

That's one of the 3/4" plywood curvy parts that I was talking about. :D Yes, it's a little thinner than the 1x2's.
