Well, you got in a hurry and couldn't wait for the Red Trailer. :Oh Brother: :R :R :R

Actually, it took me FOREVER to get the Red Trailer assembled, so either way ya go it's still work. Unless you have one custom made.

Your Progress is looking good though :applause:

We finally got the decking off just a few minutes ago. :? :dancing

Tomorrow we'll grind it smooth-ish, prime and paint and bolt down the floor.

Then it's up with the walls!

riverfront - you're bang on the money there!

Finished grinding and the primer is curing now (has a rust preventative in it).

We'll go back out in an hour and put the finish black on it. Let that cure for 2 hours (also rust preventative) and then down goes the floor!

Your working hard for that Oct. 5th deadline. Keep up the good work!

Remember! It will take as long as it does. It will be done when it is time to be done. LOL

The goal is to have it "campable" mid-September. Then we'll take a few trips to fine tune where we want things and "finish" it.

OK, so the floor is done and bolted down.

Now we have to pull the bolts out and countersink them! I don't know what I was thinking!

Image

So, now I'm stuck with figuring out which way to mount the wall once we countersink the floor bolts.

I've mocked up the wall and it will leave a portion of the bolts (including the countersunk holes exposed to the inside) as seen below. Use your imagination where the countersinks are.

Image

Any thoughts on how to wrap the 2x2 (1 1/2" x 1 1/2") into that wall without a ridiculously thick wall?

Image

The reason I'm thinking of the 2x2 route is I don't want to penetrate the frame any more than absolutely needed. A bolt hole through the trailer iron every 16-18" into the floor is far more holes than fit my liking as all are water infiltration points over time.

The 2x2 would be screwed and glued over the countersunk floor bolts into the floor. The wall would be through screwed into the 2x2 from the outside. But this would make my wall thicker than is actually needed.

Ideas?

As near as I can tell, you don't need the 2x2, just glue and screw into your floor framing.

Yeah, I've been working out of town and haven't had much time for my build or the board. That will change by the end of August as I am being let go because of a lack of projects that my company has not planned.

btw, who are these folks that have been asking?

*looks around the board suspiciously*

Glue the inner side of the outside ply and screw through the ply into the floor framing from the outside.
