Well, there you go! Thanks, Russ! I'll bet it has more power than my 1.6l 1991 Geo Tracker!

My Tracker is 80 hp, but I really don't intend to use it as a tow vehicle. My Honda CR-V is supposed to be 160 hp, and it towed the one you see on my Avatar just fine. Gas mileage did drop from 23 mpg to about 18 mpg though. Small price to pay!

And my stock TJ got only 15mpg. Mod'd it gets 13mpg, heading down hill with a tailwind.

Here is another configuration - Aerowagon to ponder.

TJ-Tough Jeep
YJ-Yuppy Jeep
CJ-Classic jeep

I have a 2001 tj and it can tow 2000, tounge weight of 200

Mine is lkifted 3 inches and has 33 inch tires on it, I lost a ton of gas mileage when i lifted it, but i installed a throttle spacer and cold air intake and im back to 16 mpg
I plan on doing a catback and a computer chip, after all that i should be up to about 18,19 mpg, which isnt that bad

I always wanted a Jeep, and the reason isn't necessarily performance or status, it's PARTS! Without eBay, my 1991 Tracker would be rusting away in the dump by now. There are very few parts available. It seems, however, that Jeep parts have an endless supply.

Yes a 4cyl TJ has a 2K rating, but with 1400 lbs of tent trailer behind it, I would get 9-14 mpg, has horrible road manners and needed 2nd/3rd gear for mountain passes over 8000'

I like Let's Go Aero's gear hauling trailers. What I don't like about their Gear Wagon tent concepts is you have to take overthing out of the trailer for sleeping. I prefer putting tents on top of the trailer. I can pull into a camp site, open my tent and be in bed in a few minutes, no unloading.

There are plenty of parts for the Trackers. Have you gotten together with any other Zuki owners? They may be a lot of Sami owners, but there are a lot of Tracker/Sidekick (Trackick) owners out there. There is lots of support also.
Have you checked out other Zuki forums? Pirate4x4, Zukiworld, Zuwharrie, Zookpower (Can.), zuknation, etc are not just about Sami's.

Sort of like this place. Lots of various forms of one type of product, then some variations that lead to similar and disimilar traits of a sleeper box on wheels.

May I suggest that you also look into changing to a lower set of gears (higher numerically) since you added larger tires. That's one of the biggest disappointments when spending money to get the larger tires installed. Not only do the tires cost, wheels, and suspension mods cost just as well. Going too much in difference in tire sizes, basically dis-performs the engine and driveline effeciency.

I've got 4.88s installed and when it was opened, added lockers. Currently running on 34's, but will be stepping up to 36's when there wear out.

Its also the same with many TDs. You place a lot on the bed to bring with you that it takes some time to set up or put to aside just to lay down. I'd like a camper, I'm working on it, that is hardside, walkin-able and has a sleep area ready to go. Insulated hardside minimizes noise when sleeping during transit. Having something ready to go is simply, park-n-sleep scenario. Depending on the setup, it could be pleasing as well as restful. I haven't traveled very far with the TJ, but did a couple multiple state trips with my Bronco and 16' Scamp. It was pleasing to do so, especially with the 2 kids (little back then) and a wife.

Found some more pics of the Crossbow.

If I remember correctly the 4 & 6 cyl TJ's had the same tow rating because of their short wheel base.

The Crossbow trailer is nice by $22-23K USD is out of my price range, and don't forget the $5-6K to ship it over.

Oryx has a similar trailer that's squarer, has a cool separate room (rooftop tent) feature, and it's only $17-18K USD.
