I haven't used formica on a trailer but I have had left over bits from kitchen renovations. I use prefab counters in my rentals and have left the extra out in the weather to see how it would hold up.

In one case the scrap was the hole cut out for a sink. It sat in an area that got a little sun, a bit more shade later in the day and whatever rain that fell. The formica showed no wear at all in the year and a half it sat. The press board that the formica was glued to, though did what press board does when it gets wet.

I considered using it on my tear but it cost as much as aluminum and some of the other members here brought up the shattering issue. Formica may not take a sharp hit very well.

It may be the answer in your case, though.

it's a ebay store, and they have tons of different vinyls.
I keep mine in the yard and so far, no problems.

Vinyl top material is fine outdoors, as long as it is washed regularly, and you put a UV inhibiting vinyl protector on it from time to time. I think it looks cool on a TD, too.

You can get vinyl with that canvas look to it. MUCH easier to keep than real canvas, I would think.
