Steve, we drive up thru the woods from the South...coming from that direction there are a couple Cstores, gas stations and even a Pizza place within a couple of miles...going North back toward the interstate, there are several stores and a Wall Mart not too far away...keep in mind that you are only about 20 mi away from Bossier City....nearest Costco is wan-meal-yon miles away :o  ;) .........

Jack:

Looks like I should shop near Huston before traveling on uP on some path
to the gathering if I want to get some fresh food. Seems that area near the park may not have big stores.

Thanks for the information on Costco... 8)

Steve, I don't know what route you are taking but there are plenty of stores within 20 mi of the park...if you come up from the south(US 71) as we do, the last town with a regular grocery is Coushata...if you come up on US 79 or US 59, you will be passing thru the Shreveport/Bossier City area, where you can shop till ya drop..........

You would be better to stop on the interstate somewhere for supplies before exiting the interstate to the park. There are two or three small convenient stores along the way in the small communities. Tina’s (BYW Tina’s has gasoline) is the closest to the park, however with this many campers with plans to stop along the way, it is pretty easy to deplete these stores.

There are plenty of big-box stores in Shreveport, but if Houston is the last place you spend the night before LCGII, then you may want to stock up there.
