Al Gore won the Nobel Peace Prize

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

People generally like Ben Franklin, so it's not a controversial sentiment. If Al Gore had said it, we'd have a thread arguing about whether an ounce of prevention is really worth a pound of cure, with links to web-sites and everything. That's the reality of being Al Gore.

CD, it's one thing to profess and another to do the right things. If Al is so concerned he should set a better example.
Buying "credits" solves nothing. It just stuffs the pocket of the credit owner.

This whole thing is so stupid, the way it turns people against each other.

I am a very tolerant person but the facts are not all on the table.

I need more information, while some are accepting the information as it is presented.
I hate to argue, but I hate to be taken in by an agenda that I have to pay into also without all of the facts on the table. There is no consensus here when all of the scientific minds are included.
There is global warming, it can be measured, but the cause is still unknown and suspect to opinion. I gladly do my part to conserve, and that's all we can do. Why burn more energy than needed? That's really stupid.

I hope no one was offended by my retoric, but my BS meter went off when ALGORE was mentioned.

Peace and God Bless America.

That kinda supports what I said. Having Al Gore as the leading spokesman for anything dooms it to unending argument.

I'm a Democrat, and I dread the thought of Hillary Clinton getting the Democratic nomination, because she will lose in a landslide. People will come out in droves just to vote against her. We could end up electing a guy who makes Dubya look like a genius, just because he ran against Hillary. If Hillary is the Democratic candidate, the Republicans could run pretty much anyone and win.

Some people just bring out too many bad feelings.

BTW, I don't think Kyoto is the answer to this problem. It's just too big a pill for people to swallow. But, there are a lot of things that we could do that would help the global warming situation, and would reap big rewards for us in many other ways, but those will never be looked at because there is too much ideological fighting going on.

I've made a lot of changes in how I live in the interest of conserving energy, and ended up saving my own money at the same time. Some times what is good for all of us is good for each of us, too.

Sorry to say, you are right about that. Plus, it looks like the Republicans are saving their big guns and money for the real fight... after the nominations... A very smart strategy. I wish we had a moderate common sense guy, of either party, that could win? Sadly, that doesn't seem to be possible given the current front runners. :(

Here what I get out of all this…

All politicians lie. Bush Sr. lied about taxes; Clinton lied about sex, Bush Jr. lied about WMD…

Since lying is inevitable in out leaders we must look at why they lie… Bush Sr. had to make compromises he did think he would… Clinton wanted to save face… Bush Jr. believed (believes) that democracy in the Middle East is worth lying.

Ok, so then why does Gore lie… there have been many documented lies… I watched the debates and I have been watching his promotions of his book and movie.

I am convinced that he actually believes everything he says… he doesn’t know he is lying.

In my opinion that makes him very unpredictable and dangerous… But hey, who cares no one listens to me…

It is kind of hard to believe a man that truly believes that the use of energy is causing global warming. And then himself uses more in one year than any average family uses in 20.

Everybody in America has to use less energy to curb global warming. EXCEPT FOR ME.

As with many politically charged topics I try to stay out and watch, but I need to comment here.

If you ever say "Ditto" or ONLY listen to "Air America" or get your news from one source, or cut and paste from one online article to make your point, or lower yourself to posting gifs of a former vice president with sH** and puke coming out of his mouth to make your point you may not be having a productive discussion.

Ditto Ma3tt.

I like a funny political photo as much as the next guy, but poop coming out of someone's mouth is a bit gross. I'd even have a problem with poop coming out of Bush's mouth, and I don't like him much.

I also agree that if you want to know what's going on in the world, turn of the TV and get on the internet and seek out the news.

When Air America first came on the air, I listened for a while. But, even though I consider my self progressive, I didn't want to listen to a left leaning version of Rush Limbaugh. I think that's why Air America didn't catch on. We don't need liberal talk-radio blowhards to counter the conservative talk-radio blowhards. We need more shows where reasonable people discuss issues in thoughtful ways.

Which in his case happens to be Gore himself. Who knew An Inconvenient Truth could be so convenient?
