This trailer in my opinion needs an internal hinge. That hinge is the Binford model 3000 headbanger special seamed to be perfect. True fully I welded it out of square tube and two metal plates and used bolts for pins. And yes only one hinge.toypusher wrote:Del,
I'm sure you explained that hinge before, but I just can't remember. Please tell us about it. It will be the only one, right??
I know several people who who vacuum instead of sweep, I think they have lost itTcurr wrote:Looks Like one heck of a hinge. When I clean my garage now I sweep it with a shop vac rather then broom. I think my neighbors think I have finnally lost it completely.
Everytime I open the garage they look over like whats that nutcase going to build now.
I have considered adding padding to these, most likely will.angib wrote:del, that's a fine looking hinge and should do the job well.
Maybe you'll add just a bit of padding to the arms?......

That is one big honkin' hinge.![]()
Where does one get a hinge that size? And don't tell me it's genetics.

But I may have to wait till the Binford model 4000 comes out.angib wrote:del wrote:Home made.
Hey, don't be modest - it may be home made, but it's home made model 3000 and they don't come no finer than that![]()

My thoughts are rebuild the hinge so the pin is about 4" farther forward. Would that improve it, or make it worse?
