When I get home from work today, I take off my uniform for the last time. My discharge orders are effective tomorrow. I am retiring as a Command Sergeant Major after 35 years, 4 months and 10 days of military duty with the Army National Guard who I work for full time. I have mixed emotions about this, as I am sure everyone would, no matter what job they had been doing this long.
A Happy Thanksgiving wish goes out to all the service men and women, especially those who are deployed and away from their families. I've been there and done that and know what it feels like.
Any suggestions about the transition?
Of course, I have my eye on another trailer project for the winter
