Fiberglass EggCamper Teardropp

Postby nwnoni » Fri May 16, 2008 12:05 am

Hello,

I'm looking at buying a fiberglass teardrop that's being sold as a utility trailer and so has no insulation.

How could I insulate it?

Thanks for any help.

Hi, Noni!

Another possibility would be to line the walls & ceiling with the padded & pre-patterned upholstery material found in many upholstery supply shops (some looks like tuck-n-roll, some looks like diamond-tuck, etc.). It doesn't take much padding to make a big insulative difference, and the added bonus is that it will give the trailer a much nicer feeling inside.

Don't know if you've looked at the Bell RV Liberty yet or not, but their trailers have insulation laminated into the structure as well as a thin layer of insulation under the headliner material.

Good Luck with your search! In the meantime ...

We use a product called Temp Coat to insulate odd shaped areas of our buses at work. We spray it on with a hopper gun but you could probably use a roller to apply. It smells terrible when wet but the smell goes away when it is dry. http://www.temp-coat.com/ this should answer any questions you have about it.
