One of my dogs was having hip problems a few weeks ago. Not sure if something bit her. She had fever at the end of her spine and beginning of her tail. Did a search for dog pain medicine and found chart for dosage.
It definately helped.

We have a 15 yr old dog that has joint pain in her hips and back legs. Our vet recommended over the counter Glucosamine & Chondroitin. So me and the dog share my pills. The dog gets 13 -15 mg of the chondroitin compound per every kilogram of dog weight once daily. After 4 -6 weeks as improvement shows reduce the dosage by half. Last winter our dog couldn't take a walk because it was too painful. Now she occasionally jumps around like a puppy.
How's that?
b.bodemer wrote:If you try aspirin...check with your vet first. It has to be buffered aspirin. It doesn't work as well as doggie anti-inflammatory meds would work because buffered aspirin isn't processed through the kidneys as well.
Past a few days of rest if your pooch is still that sore it's worth a vet visit.
