Decided to make the step from reading (and drooling over your gorgeous teardrops!) to introducing myself. I am a nurse living in York, PA, and find that by far, the most satisfying use of my time is in making things.
I saw the teardrop trailers on television a few months ago, and was fascinated. Tent camping just doesn't cut it anymore, and hubby and I tried an old, large RV, which was more trouble than it was worth. These trailers look perfect, and also cost-effective, a big consideration given the current price of gas.
Also, I am currently very interested in building a tiny house on wheels (see www.tumbleweedhouses.com) but have only limited experience with building. I plan to take a carpentry course this fall, with more to follow, and thought that building one of these intriguing tiny trailers would be a good intro. to working on a larger scale at some point.
So that is my story. Tomorrow night I am going to look at a trailer that is 6' x 10' with 12" tires. (The guy is asking $600.) I'd like to do a decent size TD with room for a little table, so this seemed a good-sized base. (Maybe the Lil Diner or something like it...so many cool choices!) I would appreciate any and all feedback. I'll probably be doing much of the work myself, maybe my husband will get interested, but I'm not counting on that right now. Oh, and I'm not a patient person, either. I want everything yesterday!
That's enough for now.
