Dee Bee if you do not have them, try a pink lady tomatoe. I planted those for the first time this year and they are great. about 90-95% meat and very little seed/water inside. VERY SWEET taste. I am like Mike though, garden is way out of control, tomatoes, and eggplant are taller then me and I am 6'1. I think the neighbors are even sick of eating my cherry tomatoes and eggplants

I'm envious, DeeBee. Your garden is pertfect! This spring, I had a great little patch going but the neighbor cut down his backyard weed patch and all his pet snails found their way to my garden, hungry. They devoured marigolds, eggplant, lettuce, just about everything. Luckily, my dog loves escargot! He had a feast every morning for over a month!
(I think he got tired of eating them. though...too much of a "good thing"! )

Regards,
Sharon

Okay, here are my garden photos...

The main garden...

The onion patch...

More stuff... cilantro, basil, dill, onions, etc...

The tomato corner...

And this plant had major surgery this week... I had to transplant it out of some bad woody soil, into some good stuff... SHOCK!

So what does one do with all those vegetables in the garden? Today we did this: a Ceasar Pepper Salad!

I just came across this thread . I have been busy with my garden this
year cooking and putting up vegetables in the freezers, so I havent been
reading the forum as thoroughly as I usually do. I got back into gardening
this year. I have a 30' by 60' plot and another 20' by 60' plot. I had 2 sixty foot rows of okra, 2 sixty foot rows of corn with field peas planted
planted in between the corn plants, one 60' row of snap beans, one 60' row of lima beans and one 60' row with radish, carrots, tomatoes and zuccani squash. In the other plot,
I made the rows 20' long. In these rows I had 3 twenty foot rows of red
irish potatoes, 2 twenty foot rows of bell peppers, 1 twenty foot row of
eggplants, one rows of tomatoes, 1 twenty foot row of yellow crooked neck squash, another twenty foot row tomatoes, 3 twenty foot rows of
snap beans, 3 twenty foot rows of lima beans, and one twenty foot row with swiss chard and beets. Sorry no pictures , the proof is in the freezer. The pictures of the gardens in this thread looked great and were well cared for. Thanks for sharing.

If you can't have fun while gardening, don't do it.

Enjoy

We plucked this variegated roma off the vine this afternoon and cut it up into our salad. That sun warmed tomato was really wonderful tasting. Sweet and ripe... :D

Sorry cant upload with this stupid phone modem, but we have about 20 mater plants Jetstar, Rutgers hybrid, Romas and Early girls, some zuccini, which is always enough ( trying to give zuccini away in august is like trying to give away a Poinsettia in January) , lots of cukes ( we make sweet pickles for Christmas gifts) 3 kinds of peppers, eggplant and green beans. Deb is the gardner I have a brown thumb
