Hammer & tongs
I just tried a product made by De-Solv-It. It's called: Contractors' Solvent. It is designed for hard surfaces including cured paint, metal and wood. It is guranteed to remove: latex adhesin, oil, tar, grease, glue, foam, caulk, silicone, wet paint, and many other things.
I used it to remove the excess cualk around my trim and well as some other unknown black stuff on my aluminum. I sprayed it on a rag and wiped the stains away. I followed it up with alittle soap and water and a dry towel to remove any remaining solvent.
It worked great!
I bought the product at ACE Hardware.
