We got our first big snow (2 1/2 feet) on the 17th of December. I cleared that out and then left for Arizona on the 20th. When I got back on the 30th of December, this is what my place looked like:

That's a 1952 Plymouth and a 1991 Dodge Stealth under those mounds. The garage roof is metal and the snow should have slid off by then. It didn't until this last weekend. I was worried about that because my teardrop is in the garage and that snow was really heavy.
Here's what the house looked like:

It took me an hour to dig the truck out so I could spend three hours plowing snow, so I could drive my car in and park it in the garage.
The snow pack was mixed snow and rain, so it was really heavy. I decided to get the roof shoveled instead of having it collapse. Here is the guys working on it:

They cut out 2 x 2 blocks and slid them off the roof. They estimated that each block weighed about 100 pounds. That's a lot of weight for a roof.
We've had more mild weather since all this and now all the roofs are clear. The big thing I have to watch for now is the ice rink in front of the house.
