Found this on Gage's web site. Is this the one your talking about Grant?grant whipp wrote:tearible wrote:I'm curious what that would actually be worth...you know, in the real world ...
Just about a year ago, Art Rimple(sp?) sold his beautifully restored CabinCar for a mere $6K, and I felt then that was a give-away price (hell, I even tried to get it, but couldn't come up with transportation funds)! Less than 6 months later, it showed up on the NorCal Craig's List for $12K ... don't know what happened to it after that.
IMHO (FWIW) ... $12K would be top dollar for this trailer in it's current condition ... and then, only to the right collector. But in today's market ...... I know I wouldn't pay that much (especially considering what I could have had Art's for!), but then, I am a cheap SOB ...
... and I'm no collector in any sense of the word.
And, like I said ... if this is the trailer and owner I think it is ... I'm not surprised ... more than a little shocked, yes ...... but not surprised.
Something else that wouldn't surprise me is that the guy is sitting there on his beach-front villa, laughing his ass off at all of us and how he's got us all twisted up ......! Think about it ...
CHEERS!
