Like last night 1:30 am my door bell rang an some guy wants to talk to me and he wants me to step out in the darkness.

I Told him no and that he could talk to me though the door.

He camed to be a Kid from down the street and that he had hit my car.

He said he was sorry and would I step outside, My wife a sensable woman said call 911 do I did and talked to the kid as I talked to the lady on the phone. Then he said you are't calling the cops are you and I said no.

as the sheiff drove up he disappeared. I was the reflection of the car ID from the house and then came out. I looked over and my car which was verical with the street was now parallel.

I had slept through the sound of a fast moving truck raising up the hill, turning the corner he slamed on the brakes a skid mark lead from the corner all they way across the length of my house up do the dirt area between the curb and the drive way where the front bumper of his turbo charged dodge ram truck lifting the rear of my car so it only removed paint from the top of his fender which is around 1 or 2 feet higher then the rear of my Mazda Prodege and as his truck stoped it through the car sideways and into a small tree.

and I shutter when the insurance man said we will just fix the car up like it is brand new. ha 3 or 4 doors dented, rear side is cut through into the trunk and it is a 1994 with 148k miles. I think ether insurance co will offer me 2-3 k and call it totalled.

This is one of the few days I did not want to come home to work on my trailer but then maybe this is the place to take out any frustration.
I am thinking of putting large rocks in front of my house.

Hope your day is a happy one :?

Yeah - things have a way of coming up don't they? Last Friday my wife decided she didn't want to work anymore so she just quit her job. No notice, no call - just didn't go in any more. Friday afternoon she wrecked her car. Thankfully no one was hurt but the car is totalled. We still owe $1500 on it. So now, we have to figure out how to pay that off, get her something else to drive, add her to my insurance coverage ($425/mo),
and do it all without her income. Oh, and yeah, still try to find some extra time and money to build a teardrop.....

:? :worship:  :? :?

Somehow I don't think that's going to work. You better send your wife back to work! :? Maybe a career change?

Ron, I completely know how you feel - this happened to me Friday evening:

While waiting at a light, the car to my left was rear-ended. To flee the scene, the offenders decided to drive into my lane, rear-end me to 'push' me out of their way to get to the shoulder and then proceded to sideswipe the entire right side of my car as they sped away. I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

the killer of it all is that my car was a 1993 Honda Accord with 60k original pampered, meticulously maintained miles.

Now, just like you, I am going to work on my tear all day to forget about it :(

Ron Think twice about the rocks in front of your house. I have a tree in front of mine that gets hit about every third winter. State Farm said not to ? I might be liable for building a barrier that people will get hurt on. Slow down huh.

For me, building things is a hobby. Making things myself and using them is very fulfilling for me as long as I don’t have a deadline. Deadlines create frustration & disappointment and hobbies should be relaxing and fun....maybe a little challenging at times, but fulfilling.

Sometimes that little thing called “Life” throws us a curve or two and when it does, we just have to deal with it and the hobby takes a back seat for a while.

This year has brought a lot of unexpected things to Sue and I. First, I had a “simple” foot surgery that still hasn’t healed right.

Next, while pouring a driveway, a concrete truck hit the overhead power lines that sent a surge throughout the house and took out everything electronic…and trust me, that’s a lot of stuff. It took a month to return to normal after that.

Then we were both informed (within days of each other) that we might have cancer (Sue, breast cancer and me, lymphoma) so we went through much testing and fear. Sue’s tests were positive and she had surgery last week. The doctor is sure he got it all but there will still be radiation treatments. My tests just came back negative.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that even tho the trailer is still just a frame and a pile of wood, it’s patiently waiting until “life” allows me to spend some more relaxing time with it. And I thank God every day that he’s still giving us “life” to deal with.

I took a used honda civic hybrid out for a drive to bumpy and to short for my legs.
I looked at a Honda Accord HYbird and it's cost could build me about 10 td or ttt's.

when it comes to finding spare cash it is not there but when it is time to replace the car .... well the Accord was out of my budget but it sure was nice.
Has not spair comes with double tube tires tire filler and a pump.

Then I went home and striped the mazda that the insurance man said is totalled. now I have 4 sizzer jacks maybe I can use them to stable the trailer.

Oh I met a welder on sat. he is the guy who totalled my car .... Hmmm

I can relate. We have been looking or a new place for about 3 and half months now. The market here is tough right now. Everybody seems to have more money than we do, so no house yet.

At least I got our tear done enough to go camping in it. You need to get back to the important things in life (TEARDROP)

Last night I had a simple honey-do, setup a computer in the other room for my wife because she is starting classes. The box has been hooked and running for a month but I am using my other keyboard mouse and monitor via a KVM switch. I bought her a spiffy new flat 19in panel monitor ans speakers. When I opened the new speakers I got it turned out to be a subwoofer only. I hooked up the old speakers and now the Left channel isn't working.

I spent the whole night trying to troubleshoot it. The whole thing is hot glued together the PC board, wires, amplifier. What a waste of time! at least I found out that the 8in driver is just a passive radiator. There is only a 4in speaker inside the sub cabinet. It still doesn't work.

I know that this is pretty insignificant compared to the other out there. I just have to rant about this thing that roped me in.

We've been absolutely shocked at the prices around here. We've been looking all summer. I built my own house to retire in (We need one at this location for the next 7 years) and the new construction around here just doesn't meet my expectations.

My TD is so close to being dried in and campable. I believe a couple or three good hard workdays would dry her in. Maybe when the weather cools some.

Hey, Maybe buy a lot and put a double wide on it -- but have you priced those things recently

Geron,

Have you priced 'Modular' homes? The seem pretty decent around here compared to mobile homes and what you get with either one!
