Auntie M, thanks for the kissing fish. They are perfect in my profile.

Dana, good start on the tear. Cute pup. What size tear are you building? You should think about coming to the Hillsboro River State Park gathering we are having over July 4th in Tampa, FL. I counted 7 sites reserved. http://www.tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?t=27499&highlight=hillsboro. If you have questions ask Becca, this is her home turf.

Thanks Lisa (the pup). I am building a 6x10 (it keeps growing). Its going to be a woodie but the top of the roof may be metal. Its more of a retro style than a tear. I hope to have more pictures up soon. And I would love to go to the July 4th thing but its kinda a shindig here at the house for us. By the way I still have a lot of family in Washington, NC and out on the Outer Banks.

OMG what an absolutely tiny world. I went to school in 1967-1968 in Chocowinity NC just across the river/sound. We used to hop on a Grey Hound bus from our country house and go "shopping" in Washington.

All right,
I'm doing a "mini" campout tonight. :vroom:

I have a friend who lives out in the county with some land and a super 9 year old granddaughter. :P This is the same couple that took me to Ohio to pick up my camper. :P Anyway, since she couldn't go on the trip I promised her a "campout" in the yard. :bounce: I'm going to take some of my new stuff to try out like my 12x12 "easy up". :bounce: Should be a good learning experience, but I'll have back up if I need help.
Wish me luck...... :bounce: :bounce:

(Can you tell I'm excited??????)

Lisa,

The under the sea theme looks great and so colorful. You did a good job. So, you're off for a mini-campout...how cool. Hot dogs, hot chocolate, smores...enjoy all the sinful things that go along with camping. Remember to take some pics so we can enjoy your campout too. Have fun! :)

 My dad was doing some work for a phosphate plant near Aurora NC. We actually lived between Cox Cross roads and Chocowinity. Having been raised mostly in Fla. it was different. We got to make real money as kids. And could get dirty doing it...Think tobacco and cucumbers. Got the best tans too. Still everyone worked in that area so we could too. Looking back it is amazing that young teens were allowed to get on a bus and go to a town that far away. These days who knows what would happen. We were safe.

We went to Whiskey Beach :shhh: and Core point. It had a beach shack at the time. But if you had a car or a ride that was (not) the place to be. Oh the things we heard.  We moved to Miami Fl. and the blow money got harder to come by.

Hello ladies, I've been off for awhile and missed talking to everyone. Welcome Lisa. I love your mural. Great job. Enjoy your trailer. I have mine about 95% finished. I need to get back on it but so much needs to be done on my yard and house. My son and I love to do the back yard camping. I like to take a nap in mine on Saturdays. Have fun. Peg

Ok Miriam..working in the fields is tough work. I remember hoeing my dads tomato plants. They would be longggg rows. Every time i looked up the row got longer. I actually grew up on the waterfront in Virginia. Our front porch was about 10' from the break wall. We actually lived on the water. My bedroom faced the Chesapeake Bay. It was really cold in the winter and heaven in the summer. My summers were riding my pony all over creation (gosh cant let kids run like that now) and swimming and fishing. My long blond hair was full of spindrift all the time when I was a kid. who needed a bath..i was almost permanently wrinkled from water..rofl  I was such a tomboy.

   OH yeah, we had that problem in Florida. Only my mom would insist that salt needed to come off. And the fresh water was dirty and needed to come off. This was before the days of blow dryers. Boy we had it hard.

Hi Peggy! Happy to see you back.
