First sketches

Ok so here is what I've got so far.



As you might see, this design is based off of Joann's awesome "Desert Dawg" design.

Some modifications though. It has to be tall enough to squeeze in a bunk for two children to crawl up on. Also, there is no need for a hatch as we've got other plans for the galley area.

Any ideas and thoughts for the dimensions would be greatly appreciated.

The way you have it drawn it looks a little short if you're only going 8' long. Doesnt leave much room for a bunk. What are the dimensions of the tongue box?

Alright so i whipped it up in CAD really quick. You should go get some graph paper and try to draw it to scale. The proportions are a little off. I traced right over the top of your picture and here are your dimensions:



2'-10" is a little short for the interior height. Those tires are 24" tall with 14" wheels

Thanks, I was needing the help with the dimensions the most. That front part isn't a tongue box, it's all apart of the cabin. How high would you suggest in order to allow a bunk?

You took a lot of trouble with the design and it is cool. The only issue I see is the join from the front box to the top. I can see it being a leaky spot if not done carefully. Also you loose the extra space. If it is ascetics then cool.

As to the bunk for the kids, without a galley it should work fine. You won't have cabinets either though. You could always stretch it to 10' and 5' high if the space were needed.

You might mock it up with some cardboard. The best kind of CAD.

Thanks Miriam! I went out a minute ago and got some graph paper and worked some things up. My end result was 5 high, 5 wide and 10 long. I wasn't really going for looks as much as I was trying to cut some of the wind drag.
