You know... I took Monday off because it is 4/27 which is a special number for me and I have had a 102 temperature all dang day! ! ! The last few times I took time off work to bust out some work on the tear, I have gotten sick.
Well, I cannot just sit around so I figured I would do some easy stuff and not mess up the windows! I got some trim for the inside profile headliner trim, as you can see it sits up in there all by itself without any glue pretty good except for a couple of spots:
I didn't get quarter round, I got something close to it, can't remember the name now, but it is the fake stuff, not real wood. I do not think real wood will make my front radius without more help than I am willing to give. This stuff sticks in there easily and is prefinished and is $2 ea.
So... before we start talking about a happy ending, it is not wood, so what do you use to bond? Clamping is not possible so I think about the PL Premium I have and I slop the black goo in the corner and I put the trim in place and in short order I see that clamping is going to be needed much longer than I am going to be able to do by hand as I can do with titebond. I tried the staple method earlier in testing mode, but I did not like the way it damaged it, so I decided predrill and tap some nails in. WHACK the dang thing snaps at the tightest radius, probably from the hammer, not from the arc. So I rip the whole piece out and spend the next 30 min and half a roll of blue towels wiping off the black stuff... I bought a replacement piece and now I have both pieces setting in place getting "used" to the shape while I contemplate how to attach them. They sit pretty good all by themselves as you can see from the pics. No big deal, that is for tomorrow. I bought liquid nails which I hate, so any other ideas are welcome.
Here is a second pic. I put in the speakers and the power outlet. It just looks pretty, nothing is hooked up. I am ready tomorrow to put the retro side lights, upper headliner, vent and AC trim in tomorrow unless I am feeling worse.
