Sounds like a good plan, Jack...if 1/16" stock works, that's all the better!
I'm making a note of the WhiteLighting3600...is that a "standard" hardware-store-type sealant?
I get it at Southerlands...a big box store...it is similar to regular siliconized acrylic painters caulk but with an ADHESIVE component to it...it has worked well for us everywhere we have used it, besides it's CHEAP(less than 3bucks a tube) and comes in colors...another alternative is plain ol' putty tape, available at most hardware, box and RV stores........
