You don't have to use the stamped 55 degree coupler, unless you have already purchased it. I decide on a tongue length, then run the A members back under the trailer past the front cross member into the side rails. I attach them just aft of the coupler, a straight one. I find that it gives me a longer tongue which makes it easier for loading the truck, and I don't get into the trailer front when backing and it's somewhat easier to back, as it's not so "fast" on the turning. I think that the 55 degree coupler works better on a wider trailer, but with the widths that these have, it causes your tongue to be shorter if you want the A members under the front for support. Doug
