5x 10 or 5 x 5 plywood

does anybody know where i can go and buy without having to buy a unit ( pallet ) of plywood......i have been to some of the lumber yards here in oklahoma city and i have to buy full stacks or units and the big box stores just just say no they cannot get they dont even try to help me out....these sizes would be some much more easier to use than splicing 4 x 8 sheets....any suggestions...thanks

I'm in Fort Worth and I was able to buy 5x10 sheets of plywood and MDO from a place called Plywood Company Of Fort Worth. You might check & see if there are any companies that specialize in plywood in OKC. It was about a $100.00 per sheet earlier this year.

...we are fortunate to have a cabinet shop behind ours(Jim's)...thru them we can get 5x5 for reasonable(somewhat) prices...for anything else the price gets exorbitant and it is time to pull out the router and slot cutter, using the spline&epoxy method to make sheets as large as wanted.....

ok i called every lumber yard within a 20 mile radius of okc.....no one has 5 x 10 i was even told that this wasnt a valid size......now i have found 5 x 5 but only in 1/2 baltic birch...find this as cheap as $16.50 per sheet.....so this may be the way i go for my floor and walls and just do some splicing.....

MY teardrop is 4 1/2'x11'. I used 2 1/2 sheets of 5'x5' 3/4" birch ply to make each side. I used biscuits and Titebond III to splice them together. If you use enough biscuits it's almost like a spline. No problems so far...

Terry, I use a router with a "slot cutter" bit to cut a 1/4 slot, the length of the material...this slot will be 3/4" deep...for a spine, I use(if available) 1/4 ply that is actually 1/4" thick and cut a strip 1&3/8th wide...useing epoxy(preferable with some filler), the 2 work pieces are joined by putting the strip in the slots and pulling the piece together(epoxy applied to ALL surfaces...minimal clamping is required, just enough to hold the pieces together while the epoxy sets...if you don't have 1/4" ply for the strip, use a hardwood strip cut the same and at least somewhat crossgrained...for 1/2" ply I use the bisquit method, Mark describes..............

That's the one that I was going to recommend. I hadn't found any others in the DFW area.

vet what was your spacing on your biscuits???
