The only thing special is that it is the first off the assembly line according to the documentation. I would wonder why a convertible would be one of the first? They didn’t make too many convertibles in the first year of production
And Speaking of Mustangs here is a picture of mine. Rare 65 mustang GT with A code 289 HiPo motor, Pony interior, automatic, rally pac, 140 mph speedo (and yes it did), all matching numbers and not a fake! They only made about 5,000 Fastbacks in 1965 - and not all were GT's. Bought it in Rockwall, Tx for $4,000. I though it was too much for the car – that was 1985 prices, but my friend, who judges mustangs, showed me the book value. I did all the restoration – from body work, interior to final paint – and it sat in the garage for three years – I finally sold to a dentist in New York for $18,000.00 in 1988.

GT500KR models are the next most valuable, at about 250-grand for a coupe and 300 for a convertible.
#003 1953 Corvette sold for one-million at BJ a few years ago, when prices were high for such cars. Nobody knows what happened to "001, and there are only rumors of #002 still existing. So, #003 is the first known Corvette -- and it barely made it to one-million.
If that car really is the first one off the line, it might fetch six-figures, IMO. Now way it goes in the seven-figure range.

Pretty spendy car.
They said on BJ that #001 & #002 were rumored to have been burnt for the governor to demonstrate that there was steel in the corvette'sDanny
