Waiting for Harbor Freight sale...

Postby TwilightLane » Thu Nov 19, 2009 5:05 pm

I think I might be missing something. I've been waiting patiently for the Harbor Freight 1720lb Trailer to go on sale. But I've never seen it go on sale. I see the other models go on sale, but not that one.

I don't visit the actual store very often - do they have sales at the store that dont appear on the site???

I've got my 20% off coupon, just waiting for the sale to 'pounce'. Thanks.

Just keep watching and it will eventually happen. Have you signed up for their email special sale coupons? I receive them twice a week.

I picked my 1,720 lb trailer up with a coupon and sale price that netted out at $269. Not a bad deal, but that was December of 2007. I haven't seen a net price that low since.

Good Luck,
Mike

I get the 'circular' type email but it doesnt seem to have coupons. Just sales prices on a dozen or so items. I get them at least a couple of times a week.

Thanks for the tip. I'll just keep my eyes peeled. I figured when it does go on sale it'd make it on the board.

If you can't wait, search for the coupon. A 20% off coupon was posted a couple days ago.

He said he had it

I got the 1720lb one for under $300... The price is good until the end of November. Have you had them price-check it in store?

A good place to look for the 20% coupon is wood magazine. In the entertainment book this year there is 1 15% and 2 10% coupons. Also if you don't have that people sell them on ebay.

Go to http://www.harborfreightusa.com regularly and check the current flyers. My experience is that the 1720 goes on sale fairly regularly.

Go to http://www.harborfreightusa.com/ which is a different website from www.harborfreight.com (I don't know why they have two websites). Then go to "see current flyers". There are currently 3 flyers there. I couldn't find the trailer your looking for as a sale item (but doublecheck me) - But my experience it goes on sale in a flyer about every other month...

The reson for 2 websites is, the harborfreight.com is the online catalog, the harborfreightusa.com is what they carry in the stores.

I just spoke with a customer rep at Habor Freight's Winston-Salem, NC store. The 1720 pound trailer is normally $449. It is on sale for $339.99, but they will not accept the extra 20% off coupon in addition to the sale price. :(

Did someone actually buy this trailer at the sale price and get the extra 20% discount on top of the sale price? Or, are they just thinking they will get the extra 20% off? :?

Steve, I believe that unfortunately ,this is a "local manager's discretion" thing...over the years I have seen it go both ways, not only for the trailer but for other items as well...............

p.s. regardless of what they told ya over the phone, you might show up in person and give it a try...bitch, if they say no...you just might get it for the price you want...I have it happen that way as well!!!!............mj
