I'd decided that all my lights in this trailer would be LED so I came up with an easy LED utility light.
I started with a cheap LED strip I got from eBay ($5.99 including shipping) and a piece of wood with a 1/4" dado in it.
I attached it under the lid. The LEDs are held in by friction only (no glue) so I can swap them out if the burn out.
I needed a switch so I tucked one away in the corner. I still need to add some kind of cover over the wires and terminal strip:
The LEDs are too blue for my taste to read by (so I wouldn't use them inside the trailer) but they work for a utility light. They don't use much juice and they're waterproof :
Then I realized I needed a light for the generator control panel so I added a little surface mount LED powered by the same switch:
