Harbor Frieght Trailers

Postby Chris D » Sun Oct 25, 2009 1:34 pm

Building a 4x8 lightwieght TD about 550 to 650 lbs. Which trailer is the best for this. Harbor Frieght has a couple of them @ 4x8. I want 12" wheels for sure.

Thanks Chris D

This one should work fine: ITEM 90154

If I remember correctly the last sale flyer had it listed for about $280.

Are you on the email list for Harbor Freight??
They routinely send 15-20% off coupons via email.
They email me a new one every week!
The coupons are only good in the retail stores. Hopefully you have a store close to you.

Thats what I did. HF had it on sale for $279 + a 20% off coupon brought it to $223 iirc.

The trailer weighs in at 262lbs to start

Mike- according to my calculations- HF has given you the green flag for an additional 26 2/3 cans of your favorite beverage.
For those who would like to have a look I have a build journal and covet your feedback.

I know I definitely want a trailer with 12" wheels, but I'm stuck between 2 HF trailers... foldable 1195lb capacity for $339.99, and non-foldable 1720lb for $399.99. Obvious with a teardrop on top I wont be folding it, but whats the difference in construction other than the folding hinge? Will the 1720lb be overkill for a lightweight teardrop? (3/4" walls and floor, soft top roof)

I went with the 1720, since there will be a scooter riding in mine. For any sort of normal TD, even a 5x10, a 1195lb should be fine...
