Some random thoughts from the outhouse.

Speaking of the outhouse, have you looked in your toilet tank lately? Mine quit working at 1:05 AM last night. Why does it always break in the middle of the night, or just when you realize that you’re 5 minutes late for work?

I removed the lid to see what the problem might be. I expected to see that the little red flapper thingy was stuck. Where the heck did the little red flapper thingy go? It looks like its been replaced by the $5,000,000 toilet from the space shuttle. There's more plumbing in there than there was in the entire Queen Mary.

All I remember was a little round ball connected to a long thin wire. Ninety nine per cent of the time the only repair needed was a few quick “jigglesâ€

Right about Xmas time every year the pipes and/or the sewer lines in the trailer I used to live in would freeze up. If I was lucky I would find it in the middle of the night so I could get some heat under there before I went to work, otherwise there would be an explosion of plastic and water at some point. The sewer on the other hand, no amount of heat would thaw, that always required a snake and wet, frozen, smelly gloves for an unspecified number of hours...provided I was lucky enough not to have to dig up the lid and crawl in the tank!!! :x :x :x
I used to dread the onset of the Xmas season!!!

The hospital gave me one of those plastic milk jug looking things...I was very happy to bring it home. Figured it would save me buying a porta potty for those late night wee-wees.... It was a good deal as long as you overlook the 60K I owe the hopital...

There's an excellent thread going on in one of the other topic threads about a $600 aluminum portapoty vs. a "Luggable Loo" which is, in essence, a plastic toilet seat that mounts over a 5 gallon bucket. The seat is $19.99 and you can get a 5 gallon bucket on the side of the road. You might want to invest in one to have on hand for the next disaster.

Your story was excellent. However, it just reminds me of most days in my life. My last name should have been Murphy.

If it wasn't for having to lug it through the basement and up two flights of stairs, the sledge hammer would have been a viable option :x
