Even though I know I’ve been doing a lot, it doesn’t seem to look like much. I think it’s because I’m working on several things at once. There seems to be a lot to building cabinets. Here’s a picture of where I am on the galley and electrical cabinets:
(Sorry about the sawdust on the lens. I cleaned it twice and still can’t get it off. )
The electric cabinet is in place and ready for wiring. One shelf of the galley cabinet has been put in (It’s being glued. That’s why the water-filled milk jugs and clamps are there.) I finished adjusting the bottom drawer and am presently gluing the trim in place on the drawer front (on the floor, in front of the drawer). Using same trim on the drawer and cabinet doors as has been used on the electrical cabinet will help unify the group. The black box on the left is my current camp kitchen, soon to be a portable pantry food box. I wanted to test that it would roll in and out and fit okay. It does. I’m just starting to work on the loo cabinet, in front of the electrical.
I did have a small set-back this month. I found out that I can’t use the built in propane stove because the propane line can’t be run next to the wires. I had showed my plans to many people and asked several if it was okay to run the two together and was told yes. But, something bothered me; and, when I saw a recent thread here about that, I decided to make one more call….to a propane company. They told me that under no circumstances could I do what I was planning. Well, darn; but, thank you for the thread and thank you, Propane Company! Anyway, I fell back on my original plan to use a caterer’s butane cartridge stove inside. It’s a single burner but it’ll be good enough. For anything big, I’ll cook outside anyway. It’s a good thing I hadn’t cut the holes in my counter top yet!
This is it for now but I’ll post another picture when the cabinets are done.
