If one can skate.. I don't think you need pristine roads. It is not huge here.. but people do skate our roads. I know people that scream down some of our hills at 40mph [which I think is nuts].
Not knowing how to skate.. I want FLAT terrain. As I said if I try summer skating I would head to some of the school tracks.
As busy I am with cycling and other activity.. I am unlikely to do that.
I would like to ice skate... but as I said outside on lakes. We often don't have good ice for that, it is more often covered in snow.
You could always try the "all terrain" models.
