Jeep Wheels

Postby reo-ron » Wed Dec 16, 2009 2:31 pm

I want to run wheels on the trailer to match the TV. It's an '06 Wrangler. Any body know what bolt pattern the newer Jeeps are using?? It's not the old 5 1/2 BC that the CJ's used. It's smaller.
Old cars, trucks, trailers and scooters - bought, sold, traded and enthusiastically talked about.

Ahh... sneaky. You got a lot more going on than your personal album indicates.

Please do reveal some :pictures: for us fellow Jeepers. We'd love to see what you're doing over there. .... .... Oh. Oh yeah, and the rest of the folks would like to see too. ;)

Thanks for the help!! I've already got trailers with 4 1/2 BC wheels and lots more wheels in the shed . Sooo -that problem is solved. I'm not a jeeper but a friend who borrows my teardrop wants meet to help build a trailer for her to pull that matches her jeep and has the same tire and wheel combo . That way she only needs her Jeep spare and not a trailer spare. I'm a hot rodder not an off-roader My trailers have vintage wheels that are 4-5 inches wide. Her's will have 33X12.5 15's on the trailer as well as the Jeep.

Wah? Huh? I repeat... We demand :pictures: on this forum of all Jeep Chicks and their rigs!

(Well, that's slightly different than how I requested it before)

Measure your hub before you spend a lot of money on the wheels. I found some rims for a decent price off a Sebring, the bolt pattern matched the hub, but the center hole in the rim was too small. The wheels on my '05 Wrangler look like they have a small hole in the center as well.

Rims and Hubs

Postby eamarquardt » Tue Feb 16, 2010 7:09 am

"Big" Guy (Teardrops for Vets) wanted Toyota rims on his trailer (to match his car). The trailer axle hub was too big for the hole in the rim so we removed the tire, put it on my milling machine, indicated it in to .001, and bored it out so that the rim would slip over the hub. Worked fine. But, as the trailer axle hub was deeper than the Toyota hub we couldn't fit the hubcap on.

Any machine shop could do this for you I'd expect it would take a couple of hours max and shop rates run maybe $100/hour.

Cheers,

Gus
The opinions in this post are my own. My comments are directed to those that might like an alternative approach to those already espoused. There is the right way,the wrong way,the USMC way, your way, my way, and the highway.

Good idea, but I wouldn't want to do this to my TV spare
