Things that don't fit anywhere else...

I think I am feeling a *little* better. Had a touch of that tired yuckiness, but not nearly as bad as its been.

Did the usual Monday lifting deal. Increased weight to 60 lbs on the one point dumbbell rows.
Followed that with a 2.75 mile walk. We're supposed to get more snow, so I thought I'd get outside while I could.

Fifteen on the Eiptical today, and my body weight exercises. I'm in my third week now, at the end of which Iwill test on my strength work. hope I get less embarassing numbers than my initial test
Also need to do a mile run/ walk for time (didn't do an initial) so I have some sort of marker for cardio improvement over time.

Hotrod forgot to say sorry about the crash, hope you're feeling better. As far as tenage girls, I remember one time I was cruising around in my old beater and a couple of those hollered "Dude you got a hoopty!"
Revenge was sweet as I hollered back "Dudette you got feet!" (they were walking, which makes it even dumber to make fun of my classic 1972 Toyota Celica that would give a 5.0 'Stang a run. But it was a car with cosmetic issues) Not being all that mature, I also left them in a cloud of tire smoke

Swissarmy, glad you're getting better.

Fenlason, hope you feel better soon

Hope everybody is fully recovered soon. Fifteen on the elipticle, I'm getting into a good cardio zone, I think, that I was not acheiving walking. Plus, I don't have to walk in the cold and rain! Yeah! So glad me and the wife bought this.
She says she's doing about ten minutes a day, and I believe she actualy is! Sometimes she rides the thing while I'm on the computer, and she's asking question about how hard might be too hard, what pulse she should be achieving, etc. People who aren't interested in fitness don't ask those sort of questions. Today I explained Percieved Rate of Exertion to her, which is what I use, rather than fool with pesky pulse taking.
She asked about the pulse meters they sell, since I don't believe the one that came with the Stride cycle is at all accurate. It says my pulse rate is 65-73 during exercise, whereas I know for a fact it's more like 85 resting. Probably will look into a pulse meter for her as I'd like to see her stay around 125 BPM at this time, so as not to overstrain her heart.

Here's my contribution to exercise. 60 miles on a bike averaging 13.8 mph in mixed hills and flats. Well behind the pack and at 53 miles, the food & hydration plan worked perfectly. Head down , in the wind and closed the gap. Watched as the stronger riders started slowing. Last turn into rolling hills, each climb, I started to pull away. No...didn't win a race just my day and its STILL feels awesome.

Was 300 pounds in August 09 and now 248.

We all have the ability to improve ourselves update you all when I do 75 miles.

That's great Art. Yeah it sounds like your wife is exercising.. :D

The chest strap pulse monitors are more accurate... but I am surprised that the one of your Stride Cycle is that inaccurate.

What ever this bug is.. it is weird. I don't feel real horrible.. just not great. At the end of my day yesterday.. I felt really drained.. I was able to finally motivate myself to do something.

I did 10 minutes of KB Turkish get ups with my new 55# KB. I think that is my first time with that. It took a lot of focus.. That was heavy for me.. and it uses a lot of different muscles.

I also did some presses.. some rows.. and some halo's. Some of that wearing my skates.
