Well, the guys at superior exports have been great but it is hard to recommend them due to their supplier. I think I still would due to they have not given me any flak at all or demanded photos of the dented fenders until AFTER they resolved the issue.

I state this because as you know I received two fenders stacked together, and packaged poorly. The inner one was perfect, and the outer one was dented. They immediately shipped another out to me but unfortunately they didn't ship it, their drop ship supplier did, so they packed it the same way, actually even worse. This is how I received the REPLACEMENT fender, this is not unwrapped, this is what was sitting on my porch when I got home:



So of course the edge had two dents in it and albeit small and smaller than the first, I sent the guy a photo of my teardrop and stated that this isn't going on some work trailer, and unfortunately it needs to be in new condition. I was upset, but not with him so I was very polite. Tony was VERY cool and apologized for this "disaster" which I though was very cool to say. and sent me another fender out at no charge and made sure the drop shipper understood the issue, and I received it today like this in mint condition:



I have learned that these days you always seem to have to do things three or four times to get things done, and this proves to be the same, but given this guys responses and actions he made this extremely painless! Now I finally have two good fenders and also two extra slightly dented fenders... He said he is going to send out a call tag but maybe I should offer him something for them and put them in my shed with all my other teardrop #2 parts...

Thomas, the shipping folks at my company are no better. They hire guys with no ambition and no concern, pay them nothing, and expect professional shippers!

Thanks for the report, Thomas. I'm glad you were finally able to get what you wanted but what a pain in the meantime! And, such a simple matter of a few scraps of cardboard for padding. Hopefully your complaint will cause them to put pressure on the drop shipper to modify the packaging thereby benefiting those who order from them in the future.

I really, really, really like those fenders and think they are a perfect match for "Modernaire".

I have always believed the quality of service is not defined by the mistakes, rather by how the mistakes are handled. Mistakes will happen, it's what you do about them that really matters.

Right on Burke! That is exactly why I can't help loving these guys but still hating their drop shipper at the same time. Alot of people can't make the distinction.

G. I think it is funny how the most basic thing will fit perfectly. These aren't the smoothed fiberglass fenders (which are way cool actually, but out of my budget), these are the bottom of the line regular totally generic fenders but they don't look and are not cheap, and the style looks great! WarPony showed me a way to take one tandem fender and cut it in half and make two with a slope back, that was a neat trick, but I think as I get to the end of this build I am all for keeping is simple as possible and sometimes the effect, if you choose wisely is AWESOME! I guess my "mistake" of giving myself a little extra playroom around the axle trailing arm when I designed it, because now with the wider fenders that I had to get it has a cool wide tire hot rod look.

I knew I was in trouble when I saw the Fed Ex girl dragging my axle and scraping the sidewalk with the studs, unprotected.... getting beat up. "Why didn't you ask for help?" I asked..."I dunno" was the response. I'd think a bit of cardboard might have been a good idea or at least a help, or maybe charge a bit more for the lugs and tape wrap them on the studs. I got a bare axle with an address stuck on it and beat up studs. Anyhoo about your fenders.... let's see them all installed! Doug

I have a couple of similar stories where employees responsible for proper care and handling of product simply failed on both counts with hard-to-get items. Very frustrating indeed.

Wow yeah how about say.... a dolly! Lucky I had a Redneck Trailer within driving distance.

It's a beautiful day today and it feels good to be back out in the garage! I discovered after camping a couple of times, that I need a spice rack, so I am making one today, I want to get dedicated items to leave there. I want as much to stay in the teardrop permanently as possible.

I also found some "cool" fans at Wally world. The big one fits in my open cabinet space perfectly, and can be battery or AC powered. The little one is battery only and sits up front perfectly too!

Finally installed my retro interior lights. Looked at wood or aluminum strips to cover the wiring, and I was originally thinking I would use the c channel that I used for the curtain rods, but I put some aluminum angle up there and I like it better because it took up less space (or will when I get the right size), and I liked it better than the wood too since it matches with the aluminum on the lights.

Oh and no they don't work, just like my outlets, but one step at a time right! This is the last thing I need to do on the electrical besides install the fuse box and the port on the side of the trailer.





I am going to get some 1/4" angle but here is how it looks with some 1/2" angle I had lying around. I am just going to run a small bead of PL Premium sealant underneath and I think that will hold it on the wall just fine.

It looks like your cord cover will work great!
I think you'll really like those fans. MadJack said he used an O2Cool during the hurricane with just batteries and it lasted something like 15 hours (?). The company sells adapters that allow you to plug them into your 12volt outlets, too. (I assume you have 12V. If you do, the information for the adapter should be on the sheet that was in the box.) Don't go for a local adapter as those aren't made for these fans and have been known to burn them out.

Love the lights. I am looking for something similar myself. Those fans are really nice, too. We use them for outdoor concerts in the summer. (Thomas is aware,but if you are not from this area, expect 85+ temps at night in the summer.)
