Yep the box is part of the front of the trailer so there will be another hinge there but I have an idea on how to keep the water out. If it works out I'll have a gutter like what is on the trunk of a car under the roof door so any water that gets in will run back out. But I'm not exactly sure how I'm going to do it yet.

Aggie I was just looking at that after I posted last night. I think I had seen it before that's why it's been bonseing around in the back of my head.

I've got a few other problems to solve before I get there though so it's on the back burner right now.

Gary - got any dimensions for us yet? like what is the height of the sleeping quarters before the hatch? Just another thought - I didn't see any pas through to the storage box on the front bulkhead - that prompted the first question about the second waterproof hinge . Also are you gonna incorporate some kind of lift mechanism?

He's 6' wide and 12' long and 5' high inside at the hinge point. the height is the same as the old one. We're putting in a 54" wide bed which will give us 9" on both sides of the bed to be able to slide back to the galley area. Putting in a 3" drop floor in the center of the galley and the back seat at the table contains the porta pot and the seat will raise and the front drop so it can be used with out dragging it out. The back seat will lift out to make access to the bed area in my side.

The only hole in the front wall is for the AC. I'm not sure what else will go in there. I was thinking about putting the battery in there but I"ve about decided to put it under the bed over the axle to cut down on tongue weight.

The front cargo doors are to a under bed storage that goes all the way through and I'm hoping to make the doors big enough to be able to put an easy-up in there. The rest of the under bed storage I can get to through the side doors. that's actually the main reason that I'm putting them in. This will be the first side doors I've done so I've got the usual worries about leaks there.

Now in normal Teardrop style I've given you more information than you really wanted to know.

Yep Jeff that's right and it is tight but it's just someplace to put your feet while you scoot down the bed to get in to the galley at night or in bad weather. I didn't want to make the trailer any wider and the only way to get more room was to go to a 48" custom made bed. We couldn't stand very well in 5' anyway. We also have the option of going out the side doors if the weather is good and 9" gives a little room to put your shoes on in side.

Okay, okay....... I see now. I had to go back and look at your pics a little closer. I thought you meant you had a 9" gap in the bulkhead to get through to ENTER the galley. Now THAT would've been tight........ yikes!!

Well I picked up the frame this morning. This is going to be interesting the the frame takes up most of the shop. Boy 12' is long. I had to pull it back to the shop by hand through 50 yds of squishy mud.

HA - now I can find where you live Gary! - I'll just look down from the google satellite view for your city and find the only workshop with a 12 ft long trailer sticking out the end! - Really - that's a good looking start you got!

Actually Starleen the google map is at least a year old. I've been trying to see a $2 million house that was built back in the woods a mile north of us and there is always a convenient cloud over it, but the bakery/winery where I make pizza Friday night has had a patio cover on it for over a year and it isn't there yet. If you find my house though the white blob on the southeast corner is the old Winter Warrior.
