Ten gauge for led lights (IMHO) is way overkill. Try a real life experiment and wire up some lights to 16 gauge or even smaller and see what haps! My bet, they'll work just fine.
My TIG machine runs 310 amps through about 12 gauge no problem! Of course, the wire is water jacketed and cooled.
