In these pics. I've tried to show how i built the floor, The reason for the inset on the floor is to set the side walls down 1" so i have 2 ways to mount them and to help with sealing water out.

The 2 x 4's were cut in a lap joint and i saturated them with glue and 3 ss screws.
The plywood is 1" with 1/8" laminate on 1 side, we've had a bunch of this laying outside for more than 3 years and didn't de-laminate so i figured it was plenty good enough to use for my floor.

Tonight i'm going to tar the underside of the floor and bolt it to the frame and then the sides will go up.!!!!!!!
Well that's it for now, I'll post more soon.

Racoons !!

Postby Chuckles2153 » Thu Apr 29, 2010 7:19 am

Last night i was working on stiffening up the trailer frame and was taking a break when a small racoon came under one of the over head doors which i had opened just a enough to get a bit of a breeze.
He or She just came right on in and went over to the cats food bowl and sat there and had itself a meal !! and i kept coaxing it to eat from my hand but it would'nt maybe with some hotdogs  one of the things i love most about camping is the wildlife, I have had racoons eat from my hand before at ( Ready? ) Racoon Lake of all places !!! I'll have my camera with me next time for sure.

Have a nice day everybody.

Hey there Tom & Linda,

Thanks for the words of encouragement, I beleive I'll be setting the walls this weekend along with the spars and whatever else i can fit into 48-Hrs. This has been a fun adventure so far and am still wondering why i didn't do this years ago

More done

Postby Chuckles2153 » Tue May 04, 2010 9:24 am

I had a heck of a time resizing some of the pics. i took with a different camera but i finally got the hang of it. and here's 6 more pics. to entice you with.

After getting all the spars in place.
I notched the sides and used poly addhesive and screws to secure the spars in place.

Here is a couple of pics. from different angles.

Here you can see i already have my interior walls finished and shineyyyy!!!
Image

And a pic. from the side showing the whole profile on the trailer.
Image

This shows the seperation between the galley and inside, I used countertop laminate on the sides and back wall. Having a tough time getting it to stick to the plywood on the small piece, Tried 3 times.
Image

I've got more than this finished, all of the 1-1/2" foam board is on and mostly sanded to conform to the profile,
I'll post those pics. sometime today, Well that's all for now and have the best day you possibly can. :D

I hope that my plan of wanting to fit the interior panels after the roof battens are fixed , is not going to backfire on me.

This looks great Chuckles.
Greetings from England.

Rian.

Hoping to get it all done in time.

Hey your build was going too fast anyway!

But seriously, that really bites that you broke two ribs! Try to let it heal up good so you don't re injure yourself by trying to do some heavy work too soon. (I think like alot of us that is easier said than done) but your build is looking great, maybe you can take advantage of the down time and work out some smaller details on paper like wiring or something. I hope you have a speedy recovery.
